To celebrate The Dugout Festival we’ll be making a zine featuring contributions from as many attendees as we can on the day – please join in. However you wish to make your mark in the zine (writing, drawing, collage, etc), everything is welcome.
The zine will be put together after the festival and will be available to download for free via The Dugout website, so don't forget to sign up to receive news on it!
The zine making will be led by Melanie Maddison (Leeds, UK) who has been producing zines since 2004, and has created work such as ‘Colouring Outside the Lines’, a zine featuring interviews with contemporary female artists. Melanie has also self-published the zines, ‘Shape & Situate: Posters of Inspirational European Women’, 'Taking Cultural Production Into Our Own Hands', 'Reassess Your Weapons', 'With Arms Outstretched', 'UK Ladyfest Artwork Zine', and 'I'm Not Waiting: Doing It Yrself Now', as well as writing for www.pikaland.com
Melanie has curated and been involved with many zine-related art exhibitions over the years, including ones at The Women’s Library, London; Gallery II, Bradford; Space Station 65, London; Victoria Baths, Manchester; and The New Museum, New York.
