With DaDaFest taking place just before Christmas, I was commissioned by two magazines to cover the festival. With the show now coming to a close, here's a round up of pieces written. Looking forward to DaDaFest 2016! This is a must see, brill video outlining 'Al Noor~Fragile Vision', #sociallyengagedart at its best. Al Noor ~ Fragile Vision has been directed and created by Rachel Gadsden & Abigail Norris (filmmaker) in collaboration with British Council Qatar. This short film gives a narrative insight into the outreach artistic activity in Bahrain and Qatar and expresses the creative and cultural ambitions of the Al Noor ~ Fragile Vision project - Created and Directed by Rachel Gadsden Ltd. Al Noor ~ Fragile Vision is created in partnership with Arts Council England, British Council UK, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, DadaFest 2014, the Museum of Islamic Art, Qatar, Al Riwaq Gallery, Bahrain, and Liverpool Arab Arts Festival (LAAF). Al Noor ~ Fragile Vision from Rachel Gadsden on Vimeo. Asking questions on #AskaCurator day. Any thoughts on Tate's response?

What hand-made creations do you associate with activism and protest? Jade French visits a very special collection of ‘disobedient’ objects (and tries to dodge the gift shop) at the V&A… http://www.thedoublenegative.co.uk/2014/09/every-tool-is-a-weapon-if-you-hold-it-right-disobedient-objects-at-the-va/ Yesterday saw the opening of Liverpool Biennial 2014. I kicked off the day visiting the Whistler talk at The Bluecoat by Professor MacDonald. Brill stuff. Also went to check out the Sharon Lockhart at FACT and the Art Car Boot. Finished the eve up with a dance at Model, super new platform for artists. More posts to follow! Really pleased that Disability Arts Online are furthering the conversation and have reproduced my recent review on their site.
