São Paulo, Brazil: Research Visit and Conference [2018]
Picture
Picture

In May 2018 I was invited by Dr Viviane Sarraf to present at the International Seminar on Accessibility in Museums and Cultural Spaces: Challenges and Inspirations. The conference was held in partnership with the Study and Research Group Accessibility in Museums (GEPAM) and aimed to provide a space for reflection on contemporary challenges in promoting accessibility to museums and spaces cultural activities. The conference was run with the support of the Memorial of the Resistance, Memorial of Inclusion / State Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Museum of Microbiology of the Butantan Institute, Institute of Brazilian Studies, Museu Paulista and Museum of Contemporary Art of USP.

In addition to presenting the keynote at the conference, I undertook research visits to a number of cultural institutions across São Paulo to explore contemporary access issues in South America.
